This Privacy Policy describes how Lake Clay Dream Away LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with lakeclaydreamaway.com (the "Site") and our vacation rental in Lake Placid, Florida. 2. Information We Collect
- Information you send us directly. When you contact us by text message, WhatsApp, or email — for example, to request a VIP Direct quote — we receive your name, phone number, email address, requested dates, party size, and anything else you choose to include.
- Waiver information. If your party uses the watercraft provided at the property, the responsible renter completes our Watercraft Safety and Liability Waiver, hosted on Google Forms. That form collects the renter's name, phone number, signature date, party size, and acknowledgments.
- Booking platform information. Reservations made through Airbnb or VRBO are processed entirely by those platforms. We receive the reservation details those platforms share with hosts; we never receive or store your full payment card numbers.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). The Site does not run advertising trackers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to respond to inquiries, provide quotes, manage and confirm reservations, communicate about your stay, maintain safety and waiver records, comply with legal and tax obligations, and protect our property and guests. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
4. Text Messaging (SMS)
Our primary contact channel is text messaging. By texting us, you consent to receive reply messages from us about your inquiry, quote, or reservation. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies with your conversation. We do not send promotional text blasts, and we do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes. You may opt out of texts from us at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP or email us for assistance.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: (a) service providers who help us operate — such as Google (Forms and email services) and our website hosting provider; (b) booking platforms (Airbnb, VRBO) as needed to manage a reservation you made there; and (c) authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our guests, our company, or others.
6. Data Retention
We keep inquiry and reservation records only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including tax, accounting, insurance, and legal requirements, and then delete or anonymize them.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@lakeclaydreamaway.com. Residents of California and certain other states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws; we will honor verified requests as those laws require. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Reservations may only be made by adults.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including HTTPS across the Site — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Third-Party Links & Services
The Site links to third-party services, including Airbnb, VRBO, WhatsApp, and Google Forms. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for their practices.
